Survey Update: We have to start over

I’d like to share an update and explanation on what happened with the survey.

To be transparent with the group, we did inadvertently violate Google’s Terms and Conditions, which is why the survey disappeared.

You may have received an email from us about a week ago asking you to vote on a flyer design. I sent that email to everyone on the survey respondent list.
While you may not have had issue with the email, and it wasn’t our intention to appear malicious with the email, Google evidently does not appreciate 350 emails going out at once.

To be clear, it is not our intention to send unnecessary spam emails to anyone. Any email we send would be specifically related to the group activities. If anyone wishes to not receive emails from us, they are always free to notify us and we will move them to a “do-not-contact” list.

Which brings me to a decision we had to make. The existing survey and data we collected might not ever come back and we have to keep moving forward with our goals.

I have created a new Google account and recreated the survey from scratch, which means that all the existing responses are gone. We are posting the new link to our website and starting over.

While this is not the situation we had hoped for, I believe we now have enough followers that it should fill up with responses fairly quickly.

I already appealed the account with Google Support about a week ago, but there is no indication that it will be restored. If it is restored, we can easily merge the data from the new survey; or vice versa.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We deeply apologize for causing this situation, we will strive to do better going forward and do our best to make sure this kind of situation does not happen again.

Please comment or email info@tscfis.org if you’d like to speak to us further about this.
